The Tale Mountain Fund, an associated trust of WWF-South Africa, has funded the Small Grants Programme since 2013. In the first 3-year grant cycle, 18 small grants of up to 20,000 were awarded.
A new 3-year cycle of funding starts in November 2017. The Overberg Small Grants will be jointly managed by Whale Coast Conservation and Grootbos Foundation. Between them they will award 14 different small grants of up to R30,000 each year for 3 years, i.e. a total of 42 grants.
We are looking for projects with the following focus areas:
- Sustainable livelihoods
- Social enterprises
- Conservation
- Environmental education
- Renewable Energy
- Reduce, reuse and recycle
- Marine and coastal conservation
Applications will be adjudicated by a joint committee. Only one application per person/organisation is eligible for a grant of not more than R30 000.

Potential grant recipients are invited to a workshop on 7 November at the Green House (see invitation for details) which will help you to define your project and assist you to write a business plan for the project.
