Frank reached the young age of 85 on 14 January. The Hermanus Botanical Society honoured Frank by dedicating two benches in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve to this remarkable man. He has spent a lifetime caring for the environment and continues to do so as vigorously as ever. He is up to any task – enthralling tourists with his deep grasp of ecological connections; sharing his knowledge of fynbos; clearing aliens; and educating the young.
