“IF CHILDREN LOSE CONTACT WITH NATURE THEY WON’T FIGHT FOR IT”

PLEASE HELP US TO CONNECT MORE CHILDREN TO NATURE THROUGH OUR HOLIDAY ADVENTURES
Holiday camps for young people present an opportunity to immerse them in nature. The senior learners go on a 3-day camp where they live, eat and sleep nature. On day one they learn about an aspect of ecology and on the second day they have the opportunity to convey what they learned to younger kids who come to the camp for the day. In this way mentoring and leadership are encouraged during the camps.
For younger learners the holiday programme is run in the community where they live, using their school as a base to avoid transport issues. These 2- or 3-day holiday programmes address environmental and health issues through activities.

WE NEED YOUR SPONSORSHIPS FOR THESE HOLIDAY ADVENTURES
The next camp for senior learners will be held in Stanford at the end of November 2016. The youth will be immersed in monitoring wetlands through frog assessment, water quality tests, occurrence of dragonflies, birds and other bio-indicators.
The learners participating in the camp have to cover the costs of their food, which amounts to approximately R300. Some campers cannot afford it and we would be grateful for any financial assistance for these deserving young people.
