The Hermanus Cliff Path also extends up and around Hoy’s Koppie – that seemingly incongruous rocky outcrop in the middle of Hermanus. Hoy’s Koppie is part of the Fernkloof Nature Reserve and is protected under the same environmental laws. It has some interesting flowers, one of which is so rare that the boardwalk around the south of the Koppie had to be aligned so that it did not go near one precious plant specimen – Brachysiphon rupestris.
