Many people think baboons are apes. They are not. Baboons are monkeys. So how do they differ from apes? Look for a tail. Most monkey species have tails, but no apes do. Nor do we, so we are apes, not monkeys. Monkeys cannot swing from branch to branch, as apes and humans can, because their shoulder bones have a different structure. Instead, monkeys run along the tops of branches, and jump (not swing) from branch to branch.
