Cape Clawless Otters are so named because their front feet don’t have claws while their hind feet are partly webbed with 3 claws on each feet. These otters are mainly active during dusk and dawn, hunting in both fresh and sea water. Prey consists primarily of crabs, fish, frogs and mussels. They will either eat while floating on their backs or swim ashore to eat it. Otters are playful and energetic, often playing with their food and play-fighting for fun.
