Erica mammosa is one of the few Erica species that has a spectacular range of flower colours, from white to pink, purple, orange and red. This local heath re-sprouts strongly after fire. It is commonly found on sandy flats at sea level and its habitat is rapidly decreasing due to urban and agricultural development.
