Through the kind offices of one of our members we have been gifted a copy of the fabulous coffee-table publication by WWF-SA (funded by the Hans Hoheisen Charitable Trust) called “The Table Mountain Fund” by John Yeld.
This beautifully designed and richly illustrated book traces the history of the TMF, from the early calls for support, through the lengthy process to raise money, to the people who helped to position the Fund at the heart of modern fynbos conservation.
To date the Table Mountain Fund has invested more than R30 million in 130 projects. These projects range from purchasing important conservation land and engaging landowners in sustainable land management, to funding applied research and supporting civil society to carry out innovative conservation activities in critical areas.
This superb addition to your library can be yours for a mere R10 donation to WCC’s Eco-Learning programme. Raffle tickets will be sold at all WCC functions till the end of September, or call Delray on 028 316 2527. Only 200 will be sold, giving you a good chance of winning, so hurry to secure yours.
