When the winter rains come the clicking starts. The most commonly heard and seen frog around the Whale Coast is the Clicking Stream Frog (Strongylopus greyii) emitting a call like a little wooden hammer. The clicking stream frog is found throughout the Western Cape in seeps and damp areas. The coloration of these little frogs is highly variable and they are best identified by an almost total lack of webbing on their toes.
